The Ceremony

You can include absolutely anything, whether you want the ceremony to follow a traditional format, include traditions from other countries, cultures, beliefs or religions.

Remember there are no restrictions – You can say and include anything you want! This can be a traditional, alternative, symbolic or a semi-religious celebration – It is up to you.

Also remember the flexibility and options having a celebrant brings in terms of location: There are no restrictions on where you can hold your special ceremony. So long as you have permission from the premises/land owners, the scope is endless!

Plans & Ideas

After listening to all your plans and ideas, I will ask many questions to establish exactly what you want. This will include whether you want family partaking in the ceremony, to say thank you or give remembrance to loved ones, whether you are happy speaking in public or ways around this if not. I want you to be happy and really enjoy your ceremony as part of your day.

I can also suggest ideas for special ceremonies that you could include, such as Handfasting, The Unity Candle Ceremony or Jumping the Broom. But again, the inclusion or exclusion of such things is up to you as it is your ceremony. I know this is your special day and I understand, there is just one shot at getting it right, creating and delivering a once in a lifetime celebration of your love and commitment. So, we will work together to ensure it is perfect and tailored exactly to your needs and desires, making it a day you will never forget!

A service delivered by a celebrant is not legally binding. it is a bespoke commitment of your love.
Some people do choose to make their wedding legal at a date either before or after the ceremony. Some feel this isn’t important to them, so they don’t. We can discuss this further at the point of consultation if you require any guidance.

Naming Ceremonies

There are many reasons people choose to have a naming ceremony. It can be the perfect way to introduce a new arrival or celebrate a birthday with your friends, family and loved ones. It can also happen at any point in somebody’s life or can be done collectively, perhaps naming a few children in your family or friendship group at one time.
It can be a celebration of the name somebody has chosen for themselves, who wants to share it with those who special to them; or where a name has been changed such as the coming together of two families.
